1W1A0511 CopyWe have certainly crammed a lot into the last few weeks of term!  As you are already aware we are committed to giving all of our students as many and varied ‘Learning Beyond the Classroom’ experiences as is possible.  These activities take students out of traditional educational settings and placing them directly into the ‘real world’ with hands-on tasks that allow them to reach an entirely new level of understanding and enhance and feed their creativitiy.  Additionally, these trips are designed to be fun!  .. and whilst having fun, the sessions are effective in supporting students’ ‘soft skills’ such as teamwork, leadership and compromise.  This last 18 months has been incredibly hard on us all, but particualrly on our young people – so for us, these trips, concerts, charity days, and after school clubs and activities are vital to support our students and give them every opportunity to get the most out of their learning and life experiences!

S8Careers Insight afternoon – 15th July

We were very excited to be able to give Year 9 students the opportunity to reflect on potential career options.  All students had a talk from Kent and Training Apprenticeships on different types of apprenticeships to help students understand the range that are available.

Students then chose to attend two different talks on range of career options including; Police, Engineering, Mechanic, Finance, Beautician or Architect.

A huge thank you to our volunteers who gave very interesting talks on what their job role entailed and how they got into their career. The Year 9 students asked lots of inspiring questions which showed how much they got from the afternoon. We look forward to extending our work on careers as they go into Year 10.

We’re in the press again .. well, the new edition of Freshwater Informer, the specialist fishing magazine!

S7Free Parent and Carer webinars on Kooth - these sessions are designed to let parents and carers know how Kooth can support their children with their mental health and wellbeing. If parents or carers have any questions, they can email parentsandcarers@kooth.com.
