Blog week ending 30th April

Students Jack, Archie and Amber were responsible for part of the interview process as we recruit a new Assistant Head Teacher onto our Senior Leadership Team.  Our Student Leaders put the candidates at ease before asking a range of interview questions on behalf of our student body.   Thank you for your intelligent observations and invaluable feed-back.

Mr Proctor has announced a new club for this term – Basketball Club on Thursdays, and all students are welcome.  We will be training and practising skills over the summer term in anticipation of competing against other local schools next year.  Our new black and orange kits have been ordered and are on their way!

Our Year 7 Scientists have been investigating methods of insulation.  In this practical lesson students conducted experiments in order to compare the effectiveness of different materials as thermal insulators.  Students are considering the importance and use of thermal insulators for situations including home insulation.

Mr Hedger’s Mathematicians have been updating the calculations displayed on our school windows in line with current topics.  The displays both demonstrate great understanding of the topic but stand as effective revision displays too.  Well done to all those who have contributed windows.
